James Gordon Taglioli (Jimmie The Barber), 102, passed away on Tuesday, August 7, 2018.

Mr. Taglioli's life will be forever treasured by his family.  He is survived by a son, James Clayton Taglioli (Sharon); sister, Nan Thompson; 4 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Ludie Ethel (Martin) Taglioli;  parents, Fabiano and Della Taglioli; brothers, David and Guido Taglioli;  sisters,  Mary and Louise.

Jimmie was born in March 25, 1916 in Gadsden Alabama. He was of the Catholic faith and a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was also a member of the Elk and Exchange club. He always knew one day he would be a barber but because of the depression he joined the Army at 16. He met the love of his life Ethel in 1938 and they were married 2 years later. In 1962 they adopted a son, James Clayton Taglioli. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, riding a bike, Alabama football and dancing. Most Saturday's him and Ethel could be seen on the dance floor at Johnny Harris's. He owned and operated Jimmie's Barber Shop for over 55 years until it burned down in 1997 but he continued to cut hair at the house until the young age of 100. Later in life he enjoyed going to city market or River Street to people watch. He had many good friends but most of them have gone now. He trained many to become barbers but none made him prouder than when he trained his son Clay.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at Baker-McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Funeral Services will be held at Baker McCullough Funeral Home - Hubert C. Baker Chapel at 10:00 am on Friday August 10, 2018.

Interment will follow in the Catholic Cemetery.
