J. E. Cribbs, Sr., 82, of Savannah, passed away Wednesday at his home, after a short illness.
He was born on December 11, 1935 in Wayne County, Ga, the son of the late I.W. and Addie Jane Cribbs.
He worked as an industrial mechanic at Union Camp for 28 years and retired from Derst Baking Company in 1998.
He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where he served in many roles.
He was an avid genealogist, jack of all trades, but his biggest love was spending time with his family.
He was predeceased by his brother, Darrell Cribbs.
He is survived by his loving wife of 37 years, Mickey Cribbs; daughters, Gay Cribbs Wilson, Amy Michelle Cribbs Whitted and Kim Morton Thyer; sons, James "Elton" Cribbs, Jr. and Wayne Cribbs; 12 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Dot Foster and Faye Davis.
Visitation will be held from 5:00pm until 7:00pm, Friday at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah,
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am, Saturday at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Interment will be at Hillcrest Abbey Memorial Gardens-West.
