James A Thornburg Sr.,78, of Savannah passed away Monday, June 12th, 2017 at his residence.
A native of Savannah, he was the son of Banks Richard Thornburg, Sr. and Evelyn Woodall Thornburg. He was a business owner in the automotive industry for many years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and loved animals, especially his faithful dog Bonnie.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his son Michael Thornburg, fours sisters, Christine Hunt, Betty Findley, Geraldine Phillips, Bankaline Beaudin and a brother, Banks R. Thornburg II.
Survivors include his children, James Thornburg, Jr. (Cecile) of Bloomingdale, Donna Lee Wilfur of Savannah, Angela Reno (James Reno, Jr.) of Eden, Robert Thornburg of Savannah, Issac Thornburg, Rachael Thornburg, John Thornburg, Banks Thornburg III, twenty grandchildren, a number of great grandchildren and many other relatives and friends.
A graveside service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 11am in Laurel Grove - North Cemetery, with Rev. Cecil F. Gray officiating.
