Ivey Gordon Tillman, Jr., 85, of Savannah, passed away, Friday, April 21st, at his home, surrounded by family.
He was born in Claxton, GA, on August 8, 1931, the son of the late Ivey and Girtie Connor Tillman, Sr.
Ivey served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean conflict. He retired from the Department of Labor where he worked for many years. Ivey was known for his gardening abilities, distributing the fruits of his labor to friends and family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Evie E. Vines Tillman; granddaughter, Ivey C. Hickman.
Survivors include his daughter, Vanessa Kay Haupt (Larry); two granddaughters, Melissa K. Zettler and Susan M. Hickman; one grandson, Robert D. Hickman, Jr.; five great-grandchildren, Joseph Zettler, Luther Zettler, Tyler Hickman, Ethan Hickman and Cody Farr; one great-great granddaughter, Zoey Zettler; sister, Joanne Allen; one brother, William M. Tillman; several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm, Tuesday, April 25, at Hillcrest Abbey -East, 1600 Wheaton Street, Savannah.
