Irene M. Kellom, 85, of Augusta, Ga passed away Sunday September 22, 2018.
Irene was born and raised in Berlin. Having survived World War II she immigrated to the United States having married Bernard Kellom, whom she met in Berlin after the war. She and the family settled in Augusta, Georgia in the early 1960's. Irene was an office nurse for over 20 years for OB/GYN Partners of Augusta. She was of the Roman Catholic faith and was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. She was also proud to be a volunteer for the Red Cross at Fort Gordon and loved to garden. She loved her family and caring for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Anna Grieger; her sister, Elma Bowers and her brother Klaus Grieger.
She is survived by her sons, Michael J. Kellom and Bernard K. Kellom (Deborah); daughters, Dr. Janet I. McMahon and Dr. Theresa M. Kellom; her ex-husband, Bernard Kellom, sisters, Else Poplawski and Waltraut Mechelke; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
Mass Service at St. Teresa of Avila in Grovetown on October, 1, 2018 at 2 pm, followed by a reception at her home in Augusta.
Family has entrusted Baker McCullough Funeral Hubert C. Baker Chapel for making arrangements.
