IRENA J. HILL-THOMPSON (WINKIE) left this world suddenly on July 20, 2022, at age 36. She was
born on March 19, 1986, to Milton and Patricia Hill in Chicago, IL. Irena accepted Christ at New
Christian Valley MB Church, South Holland, IL.
Her early education years were attended at Dirksen Middle School, Calumet City, IL.
After graduating from high school, Irena entered the United States army and was stationed in
Savannah in 2004. She attended St. Leo University and received her bachelor’s degree in
criminal Justice. Irena also received several certifications in Bookkeeping, Tax preparation,
finance, law, and others.
Irena was a self-employed businesswoman in finance preparing taxes and bookkeeping. In 2010
her first child, Kevin L. Dempsey was born.
In 2018 Irena met, fell in love, and married Adrian Maurice Thompson and to this union one
daughter was born (KALLIE).
Irena was an outstanding Mother, Wife, Daughter, Sister, Friend, and businesswoman.
She was an extraordinary person and never met a stranger; she left a friend wherever she went.
Irena loved her family and always did her best to make family a priority. Her children were her
life and motivation. Irena loved helping people she was a giver always lending a hand to others
in need.
To know Irena was to know her love for tattoos and sneakers. Always on the hunt for
something new for both. If you needed a shoe, Winkie could find it.
Her memories will forever be cherished by her husband: Adrian Maurice Thompson, her
children; Kevin Dempsey and Kallie Thompson, (Savannah, GA), parents; Milton and Patricia Hill,
Chicago, IL; mother-in-law; Lawanda Thompson, (Savannah, GA), stepchildren; Aneya
Thompson, Amontay Thompson, Adrian Thompson, Jr.,(Savannah, GA), sisters; Porschia Hill,
Susan Hill, (Chicago, IL), brothers-in-law; Andre Thompson, Eugene Calloway III,(Savannah, GA),
nephews; Xavier Brown and Marcus Hill, like a brother; Gregory Singleton, host of aunts, uncles,
cousins and many, many close friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, July 30, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
