Ida Rita Hagin, 91, died Tuesday, September 27, 2016 while under the care of St. Luke Missionary Hospice.

An Effingham County native graduated from Georgia Southern College in 1953. She taught school for many years in Cherokee, NC and also taught in Chatham County Schools. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Bloomingdale.

Survivors include her nieces, Carolyn Lucas, Kay Newsome, Darlene Hagin; nephews, Scott L. Thompson, William "Bill" Thompson, Jimmy Hagin & William Hagin; great nieces and nephews, Andrew, Ryan & William Thompson, Andrea & Robert Thompson, Katherine Harrison, Jonathan & Sarah Lucas, Willie, Scott & Jeffrey Hagin, Jennifer Figueroa; and other family.

Graveside Services will be held Friday, September 30, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
