Holly Burke Anderson, age 60, passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 at home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Anderson was born on January 3, 1962 in Savannah, the daughter of the late Martha Jane Hutcheson Burke and Robby Wray Burke, Sr. She was a graduate of Beach High School and continued her formal education at Armstrong Atlantic State University where she earned a degree in special education. She completed her graduate studies in special education at Walden University. She loved teaching and working with special education students. She began her career in teaching with Richmond Hill Primary School and later with Coastal Georgia Comprehensive Academy until retiring due to health. After teaching she worked with her husband at Scuba Steve’s Seafood. She was a longtime member of Taliaferro Baptist Church. After the closing of Taliaferro she attended First Baptist Church of Richmond Hill and was most recently a member of Islands Christian Church. Holly was quite the socialite, never meeting a stranger. She enjoyed sharing stories with other cancer survivors, she enjoyed traveling, but she enjoyed spending time with family above everything else.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robby Wray Burke, Jr. and Thomas Ovid Burke. She is survived by her loving husband of 8 years, Steve Anderson; daughter, Taylor Jane Farmer (Ryan); sons, Mark Lawrence Walden, Jr. (Isabella Rios) and Lucas Anderson; grandson, Carson Alexander Cain; sisters-in-law, Sabrina Burke and Karen Burke; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.
