Hollis Clinton Loper, 94, of Savannah, Ga., died Sept 10, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center.
He was born in Effingham County, and was retired, as Captain of Security for Continental Can Company, which later became Stone Container Company.
He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, until it closed, where he served as Chairman of the Board of Deacons, and a member of the Property Committee.
He was a veteran of WW II, having served in the Pacific Theater in the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn B. Loper, and his parents, Hallie W. Loper and Mary Croft Loper; he is survived by 2 sons, Russel Loper (Deborah), of Elijay, Ga; and Michael Loper, of Savannah, Ga; daughter, Linda Morris (Stephen) of Athens, Ga; sister, Carolyn Beville (Harris), of Knoxville, Tennessee; 5 grandchildren, and 2 great grandchildren.
Visitation: 11:30 - 12:30 p.m. Monday September 16, 2019 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 12:30 p.m. Monday September 16, 2019 in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Perry Bazemore, officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
