Herbert Craven

Herbert Benjamin Craven, Jr, 80, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Dec 22, 2015 at Memorial Medical Health University.
He was born in Savannah, Ga., and was preceded in death by a son, Herbert B. Craven, III; his parents, Herbert B. Craven, and Alma Lucille Simmons Craven, and two sisters.
He was a graduate of Savannah High School, and a member of the Islands Assembly of God' He was retired from Stephens Shipping Company, having served as a River Boat Pilot for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Effie Newton Craven, Savannah, Ga; daughter, Anita Grooms, Savannah, Ga; sister, Terry Tinsley of Garden City, Ga; 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
Visitation: 10 - 11 a.m. Saturday, at the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Funeral Services at 11 a.m. Saturday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Larry Butler, and Rev. Buddy Cribb, officiating.
Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
