Ms. Helen Petras Chiotellis, age 95, passed away on Thursday, March 27, 2025.
Ms. Chiotellis was born on December 7, 1929 in New York City to the late Spiros Petras and the late Kalliope Papavassiliou Petras. She moved to Savannah in 1953 after her marriage. Before retiring, she worked as a claims examiner for the State of Georgia. She was a member of St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church, where she was also a member of St. Barbara's Philoptochos Society.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Stacey Chiotellis; and her son, Terry Chiotellis.
Survivors include her daughters, Keli Miltiades and Mary Chiotellis; and three grandchildren, Michael Miltiades, Sarah Miltiades, and Jimmy Smith; nephew, Ross Petras (Sly); niece, Kathy Petras (Randy); and great nephew, Alex Petras (Lauren).
A funeral service will be held on Monday, March 31, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul's Greek Orthodox Church (14 W. Anderson St. Savannah, GA 31401).
Interment will follow in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
Visitation will be held from 9:30 until 10:30 a.m. prior to the service at the church.
