October 10, 1947 — February 4, 2023

Gwendolyn Blalock Winters, 75, passed away on February 4, 2023 at home. She was
loved and adored by many.
Born on October 10, 1947 in Metter, Georgia, she was the Daughter of Willard Blalock
and Mary Bandora (Heartsil) Blalock. She graduated from Robert W. Groves High in 1965.
Gwen spent most of her career as an employee of the Coca-Cola Distribution Plant in Port
Royal, SC but retired to spend time with loved ones.
Gwendolyn was a devoted mother and grandma. She was a strong woman who even
while battling stage 4 breast cancer and other health related issues never failed to put on
a smile. She enjoyed going on walks or her weekly lunch dates with her cousin Libby,
playing with her grandchildren or just sitting and talking with her friends and family.
Gwen was the most compassionate person you would ever meet. She always knew how
to make someone feel better when they were down.

Perry, Robert and Erica Winters and John Winters; seven granddaughters, Brooke
Marino, Lauren Sauceda, Tiffany Ellis, Mariah Bailey, Kamri Johnson, Avery Evans and
Ruby Winters; five grandsons, Brandon Elrod, Gary Hill, Cody Hill, Austin Hill and Quinn
Johnson; two great grandsons, Landon Sauceda and Brantley Elrod; and many cousins,
nieces and nephews. Gwen will be deeply missed by her family, friends and all who knew
her.
