Grace Hiers Davis, 92 , of Rincon, Georgia, passed away June 12, 2019 at Effingham Care Center.
She was born in Hampton County, South Carolina and was proud of it. She moved to Savannah, Georgia and later lived in Rincon, Georgia for over 50 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Harold D. Davis; two of her sons, Edward J. Davis (Marcia) of Clyo and Lamar D. Davis (Fran) of Rincon; and her mother, Ruby "Grandma" Baker of Savannah; one brother, Julius Hiers of Jesup; three sisters, Kathleen Lynn, Rozina Davis, Mae Ruth Zettler.
She leaves behind three sons, Harold Odell Davis, Dennis G. Davis (Joan) and Paul S. Davis (Sherrie) all of Effingham; a sister, Dorothy Stokes of Savannah; 9 grandchildren, Angie Hitchens (Billy), Eddie Davis, Jr., Alicia Gibbs (Luke), Shane Davis (Marilyn), Craig Davis (Meredith), Adam Davis (Mandy), Allison Turner, Brandon Davis and Brooke Davis; seven great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was a member of Rincon First Christian Church where she had many true friends. She enjoyed roses, butterflies, Tuesday Morning Ladies' Bible Study and a good laugh. She didn't like hearing aids and mumblers.
She loved her family very much and made them feel loved. She put everybody ahead of herself.
On her last day with us she felt good and enjoyed the day. In the afternoon she said she wanted to go home and not long after that she did.
Visitation: 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11:00 a.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019 in the Chapel of the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.
Burial: Forest Lawn Memory Gardens Cemetery.
