Gordon Robert Chase, “G.R”, age 55, passed away Saturday, September 9, 2023 after a short illness with family by his side.
G.R. was born March 17, 1968 to the parents of Nancy Stevenson Chase and Gordon Bradley Chase of Hartford, Connecticut. G.R. also lived in the Bahamas and Florida before settling down in Savannah, Georgia. G.R. was a fun loving, genuine, down to earth kind of guy. He loved to joke around and have a good time. G.R. coached a pee wee football league for a few years working close with schools within the Chatham County area. It was during this time he met the love of his life, Dawn Webster-Chase. It wasn’t long before the two became inseparable. As a joke between each other, they decided to get married on leap year day, February 29.
G.R. worked in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. He was a hard working man. In his spare time, G.R. enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching his favorite football teams; the Miami Dolphins, and the South Florida Bulls. G.R. was also into creating acrylic sculptures. He loved duct tape and zip ties and had a knack for finding new creative ways to utilize them.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Nancy Stevenson Chase; his maternal and paternal grandparents; his best friend, Robb Isola; and his dog, Destiny.
G.R. leaves behind his loving wife, Dawn Webster-Chase; his sons, Gordon William Chase II, and Nathaniel “Nat” Webster; his parents, Gordon Bradley Chase, and Robin Chase; his sisters, Heather Chase, and Jill (Kyle) Broughton; his brother, Scott Chase (Emily); and many nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, and cousins.
