Gloria Consos Tech

d. November 28, 2017

Gloria Anne Consos Tech, 83, loving Wife, Mother, and friend, departed this life unexpectedly on Monday, November 27th, 2017, at her home in Savannah.
Born February 20, 1934 to Sam George Consos and Olive Martin Consos, she was raised during the depression. She was a lifelong resident of Savannah. Her father, a first-generation Greek immigrant and her mother taught her about hard work and honesty from a young age. As a child, she came in second place in a Shirley Temple contest, a story that she loved to tell.
At an Arthur Murray dance class she met Gerald Tech, who asked permission from her parents to walk her home. They fell in love, married, and as their family began to grow, Gloria gave up her career as a secretary to devote herself to nurturing, caring for, and loving her children.
She was a member of the last January graduating class of Commercial High School. She was currently the longest active member of Trinity United Methodist Church in Savannah. She was a lifelong member, from the time she was "a baby in the cradle roll" at the Church. She had formerly served as a "top notch" secretary at the church, as well as at Independent Presbyterian School, Consumer Credit Counseling Services, John D. Robinson Company, and R. C. Motor Lines. She also served as a substitute teacher at Independent Presbyterian School. She was a member of the United Methodist Women of Trinity United Methodist Church, an active member of the Georgia Power Ambassadors, and she helped with the Wednesday Night Church Suppers at the Church for years, until it was discontinued.
She is remembered as being proud of her Greek heritage and always having a warm smile and warm personality. She loved music, and spent many hours listening to her favorite CDs. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and was very proud of them. She never missed an opportunity to tell them so, as that message was included on every card for any occasion. She was very devoted to her church, and professed a saving knowledge of Jesus Christ.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gerald Irvin Tech, in 2006; her parents; her brothers Sam Consos, George Consos, and John Consos; and sisters Sara Beebe and Dorothy Beebe.
She is survived by her 2 Sons, Kenneth "Kenny" Michael Tech, (Karen), Richmond Hill, GA and Thomas "Tommy" Herbert Tech, (Nancy), Savannah, GA; 2 Daughters: Dr. Kathy Marie Tech Morris, (Pete), Savannah, GA and Angela Florence Tech Canady (Scott), Savannah, Ga; Grandchildren: Cheryl Tech, Peter Morris (Christy), Bryan Morris (Stefanie), Michael Tech (Carrie), Joshua Tech, Nathan Tech (Deena), Allison Canady Pearson (Charles), Megan Canady, Melanie Hennessy (Terrence), Steven Holmes (Lisa), Jessica Tech Ramirez (Will); Great Grandchildren Harper Reese Morris, Joshua Craig Tech, Chandler and Will Holmes, Katrina and Brianna Hennessy, Jaidyn Worthington and Jamisyn Ramirez; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, Friday Evening, from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m.
Funeral Services: 12 p.m. Noon, Saturday at Trinity United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ben Gosden, officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
Remembrances can be made to Trinity United Methodist Church, 225 W. President Street, Savannah, Ga 31401.
