Glenda Blanche Davis

December 5, 1939 — November 13, 2021

Glenda Blanche Davis, age 81, passed away peacefully on Saturday November 13, 2021, at her home in Garden City, Georgia where she was a resident for the past fifteen years. Glenda was Born December 5, 1939, in Jacksonville, Duval, Florida, the daughter of Grover Charles Adams and Nada Mae Cope. Her surviving relatives are her husband Charles Austin Davis of Garden City, Georgia, whom she married 25 February 1978 in Jacksonville, Florida, her daughter, Lori Anne Wasdin of Cocoa Beach Florida and her son Steven Charles Wasdin of Jacksonville, Florida. She has nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

She was preceded by three of her brothers Grover Charles Adams, Jr. of Fillmore, Utah, Gregory Cope Adams of Phelan, San Bernardino, California, Gordon Carlyle Adams of Savannah, Georgia and her three sisters Gail Anne Snearly of Capron, Oklahoma, Gwen Ella Forsyth of West Valley City, Utah and Garrie Nada Adams of Tooele, Utah. She has a living brother Gene Cadren Adams of California.

Glenda graduated from Andrew Jackson High School in Jacksonville, Florida in 1958 and attended Jacksonville University. She was the recipient of thirteen beauty pageant awards including Miss Downtown Jacksonville and Miss Life Saver for the US Coast Guard. Her hobby was genealogy, and she published the genealogy book Tilton England to Florida. She worked at the Jacksonville Credit Bureau and later for Landon Associates, a national newspaper representative firm in Atlanta, Georgia as a secretary.

Glenda was a devout Christian and was a lifelong member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Everyone who knew her fell in love with her gentle and happy personality and she was truly a lady in every respect. She was known to have never uttered a cross word to anyone including her husband. She would always seek out the downtrodden and the undesirables in life to lift them up and would gladly give freely to their support. Not only was she beautiful on the outside but more beautiful on the inside. She enjoyed humor and she loved to laugh and would always leave a person feeling good about themselves. She leaves a legacy that is unequaled by all who have had the privilege of knowing her. She will surely qualify as an elect lady as she now graduates from life to her new heavenly home. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A private memorial service for family members was held on Sunday afternoon and she will be buried in the Bonaventure Cemetery.
