Gladys Koss 93, died September 14, 2024, at Nathan Adelson Hospice in Las Vegas, NV after a short illness. Gladys was born in Bluffton, South Carolina on November 5, 1930. She graduated from Bluffton High School in 1947. Gladys worked as a cashier at Planter’s Merchantile where she met Abe Koss whom she married in August of 1949. After they were married, they moved to Syracuse, New York where she worked at GE making tubes for TVs. In September of 1954 Gladys welcomed her son and pride and joy, Robert. The family later moved back to Savannah, Georgia where Gladys became a substitute teacher at Bartlett Junior High. Gladys enjoyed bowling and bowled on the team Abe’s Babe’s for many years. She also made several road trips with the bowling girls where she was able to explore new cities and states, making fabulous memories. Gladys will be remembered for her love of her family, flowers, shopping, and getting her hair done every week.
Surviving are her Son Robert Joseph Koss and Daughter-in-law, Susan Donaldson Koss; Grandchildren, Robert Joseph Koss Jr. and his wife Melissa Forte Koss, Shawn Christian Koss and his wife Kari Rebecca Irwin Koss, Candace Kyna Koss Krubsack and her husband Marc Andrew Krubsack; Great-Grandchildren, Brendan Joseph Koss, John Michael Forte, Kanae Elizabeth Koss, Joseph Abraham Koss, Taylor Brannen Krubsack, Stephanie Elyse Krubsack, Baylee Grace Koss Peanut, and Dylan Jacob Koss Peanut; Sister: Yvonne Bonnie O’Quinn Stephens, Brothers: Walter Joseph O’Quinn, Herbert (Red) L. O’Quinn; and many nieces and nephews. A Gathering of Family &
Friends will be held at a later date to be announced, in Bluffton, South Carolina.
