Geraldine Rudd Williams, 86, of Garden City passed away Sunday, October 7, after an extended illness at Landmark Hospital in Savannah, Georgia. "Miss Gerry" graduated from Reidsville High School in Reidsville, Georgia and Draughn's Business College in Savannah. After her retirement from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers she went to work as the secretary of Trinity Church of God, where she was a member, and she just retired from there in the fall of 2017. She leaves to cherish her memory her son and daughter-in-law Wayne and Vondean Williams, granddaughters Janna (Kyle) Minyard and Renee Lain, great grandson Levi Thomas, step-great granddaughter Gracie Minyard, sister-in-law Ann Love, and several nieces, nephews, cousins, great and great-great nieces and nephews, and beloved friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl E. Williams, and parents Mitchell and Carrie Rudd.
Funeral services will be held in the chapel of Baker McCullough Funeral Home on Highway 80 in Garden City. Visitation is planned for Thursday, October 11, from 6-8 p.m., and the funeral on Friday, October 12, at 11:00 a.m. Burial is to follow at the Reidsville City Cemetery in Reidsville, Georgia.
