Geraldine Monroe Mitchell

Geraldine Monroe Mitchell, 84, of Ellabell, Georgia passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022 at her home.
A native of Soperton, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Albert Dewey Monroe and Rosa Barwick Monroe.
Geraldine was homemaker and had worked as a seamstress and also with the Chatham County Court. She was a member of Savannah Holy Church of God and attended the Bridge Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William “Bill” H. Mitchell, Jr.; siblings, Pauline Boxxe, Dewey Lamar Monroe, Franklin Eugene Monroe and Marilyn Marie Monroe.
Surviving are children, Donald "Don" Redding, Sheila Shearouse, and Rhonda Stapleton. She also leaves behind 16 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; brothers , Billy Monroe and Ray Monroe; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held Saturday, September 10, 2022 from Noon to 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service to begin at 1:00 p.m. in the chapel of the funeral home with Rev. Lawrence Butler officiating. Burial will follow at Gravel Hill Cemetery in Bloomingdale.
