George Samuel Maust, Jr, 72, of Savannah died Monday, December 19, 2016 at his home.
A native of Flatwoods, Kentucky, he was the son of the late Vesta Mae Caudle Maust and the late George Samuel Maust, Sr.
George was a US Marine Corps Veteran having served his country during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the VFW post 660 where he held the position of Quarter Master. He was retired from Georgia Pacific Corporation.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Joy Wick Maust; his parents, a brother, William Maust, Sr. and a sister, Cora Sue Hardy.
Survivors include his daughters, Beverly K. Donaldson (Gary) of Rincon, Georgia, Cindy Maust Hicks of Columbus, Georgia; sisters, Cherry Deborde (Marvin), Lorraine Morrison (Sam), Peggy Hay all of Kentucky, Betty Henderson of Brunswick, GA; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at the VFW Post #660, 5115 Ogeechee Road, Savannah, Georgia 31405.
In lieu of flowers donation are ask to be made in George's name to the VFW post #660, in the form of winter wear, blankets, tents and nonperishable foods or currency.
