George W. "Billy" Helmey, 84, of Savannah died Tuesday, October 27, 2015 at St. Josephs Hospital.
Billy was born in Savannah, GA to the late J.W. and Jean Bashlor Helmey. He was a US Army Veteran, a member of the F. & A.M.'s, Richard Turner Lodge, and Alee Shrine. He was retired from Interstate Paper where he was a Supervisor. Billy had an Engineering degree and was an HVAC technician.
His wife, Jean Bashlor Helmey and son, Rodney preceded him in death.
Survivors include his sons, Roger W. and James Donald Helmey; daughter-in-law, Patricia Helmey; sister, Patsy Helmey; 2 granddaughters, Wendy and Sierra.
Visitation: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Thursday, October 29, 2015 at the Fairhaven Funeral Home Garden City Chapel.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Friday, October 30, 2015 at the Funeral Home Chapel with Brother Paul officiating.
Burial: Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
