Gary L. Bowers, 71, of Port Wentworth, GA passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at his home in the presence of his family.
He enjoyed retired life by playing "slow" golf with his brother, Jud; spending time with his grandchildren, which he was very proud of; and teaching the Bible. He never met a stranger and his sense of humor always made everyone laugh.
He is preceded in death by his parents Judson Perkins Bowers and Agnis Aline Groover and his baby brother Terry Bowers.
He is survived by his wife of 18 years Candace (Candy) Jean Bowers; sons, Patrick Bowers, Nathan Bowers, Thomas Bowers, Adam Woodcock; daughters, Tammy Green, Melody Knight, Kelly Pauley, and Tiffany Beauchamp; 18 grandchildren and additional family members.
A Celebration of Life will be held Thursday at 1 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home- Garden City Chapel.
In leu of flowers contributions may be made to Summit Cancer Center.
