Fredna Margie Yost

Fredna Margie Yost, age 90, of Savannah, Georgia passed peacefully at The Oaks Savannah under Hospice Care on Tuesday, March 5, 2024.

Born September 27, 1933 to Carlton & Frances Lewis in Manassas, Georgia. She was a woman of God and a member of Calvary Baptist Temple for over 33 years. She enjoyed playing Bridge and was in a Bridge Group for over 50 years. After leaving high school, she went to work at Belk Department Store. She loved Ballroom Dancing and met her future husband Jay W. Yost dancing. They married and moved to York, PA for a few years until Jay got a job with Florida Power where he worked until he retired. Fredna & Jay loved to travel and visited almost all the countries in this world. After living in Winter Park, FL for 31 years. They retired to Savannah, Ga where they enjoyed dancing at Johnny Harris, Alee Shriner/Alee Temple and anywhere they could find a place to dance. Fredna loved her family and was so thankful to be back in Savannah.

Fredna was preceded in death by her parents Carlton & Frances Lewis; her husband, Jay W. Yost; her sister-in-law Nancy S. Lewis; and her brother-in-law Hedley Yost.

She is survived by her brother Charles Cleon Lewis; nephews, Charles C. Lewis, Jr. (Karla), Craig S. Lewis (Laurie), Carey A. Lewis (Francois), and Chad E. Lewis; great nephews & nieces, Chip Lewis, Brett Lewis, Amanda Hambrick, Stephanie Melton, Taylor Henderson, and Chasen Lewis; great great nephew & nieces, Madelyn Hambrick, Luka Lewis, Liam Lewis, Bentley Henderson, Anastasia Melton, and Millie Lewis.

The visitation and the funeral service will be held at Calvary Baptist Temple on Monday, March 18, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. noon.

Burial will be private and take place at Forest Lawn Cemetery with Reverend Derward Poole presiding.
