Freddie M. Love, age 74, passed away Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
Freddie was born September 23, 1948 in Savannah, Georgia where he lived all his life.
He joined the Marines at 17, and served in two Vietnam tours. Fred then worked at the Georgia Ports Authority for 35 years as a crane operator before retiring in 2003. He was an avid hunter and fisherman.
Freddie was a member of Riverside Baptist for many years and Northside Baptist in Rincon, Georgia.
He loved his front porch, and having his coffee.
Freddie is preceded in death by his parents, Marcus and Nell Garrett Love; his brother, Delvin Love; and his sister, Laura Hutchinson.
Freddie is survived by is wife, Vicki Love; his daughters, Kimberly Deas (Ricky), and Pamela Groover; three grandchildren, Haley (Marquis), Austin, and Ken; one great grandson, Asher; his sisters, Marian Sonnleitner, and Theresa Devoe; his brothers, Edward Love, and Tony Love; and many nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406, Monday 17, 2023 between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. . A funeral service will be held at the end of visitation and will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Eddie Deas officiating the service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery, 1336 Dean Forest Rd, Savannah, GA 31405.
