Fred Jacoby

Fred Cecil Jacoby III, age 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 28th, 2019. Fred was born on August 14th, 1943, in Laurinburg, North Carolina, and was a resident of Savannah, Georgia at the time of passing. Son of Fred C. Jacoby Jr. and Eular I. Lambert, he was an avid tennis player, coin collector and auto enthusiast. Fred received his degree in accounting from Armstrong Atlantic State University and was the general manager at Southern Motors Acura for 20 years. In retirement, Jacoby pursued a career in Loss Control Management and welcomed his first great grandchild, Chase Davis.

He was preceded by his brother, Allan Jacoby, sister, Mary Bodwer, and son-in-law, Rob Porterfield.

He was survived by his wife, Pauline Jacoby, daughter, Debbie Porterfield, son John Hendry (Cheryl), grandchildren, Paige Davis (John), Martin Porterfield, and Jordon Hendry, niece, Patty Gale, mother-in-law, Kathleen Linton, and sisters, Dawn Williams and Brenda Yeoumans.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5th from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Baker McCullough Funeral Home on 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah. A funeral service will follow with subsequent burial at Bonaventure Cemetery on 330 Bonaventure Road, Thunderbolt.
