Franklin D. Rivenbark passed away peacefully Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the age of 74.
He was born August 7, 1947 in Savannah, GA. Franklin was a Police Officer for the City of Savannah Police Department, retiring after 42 years of service. Franklin was also part of the Alee Shrine in Savannah, Georgia, Bryan County Shrine Club, and Tybee Light Shrine Club. While serving in the Alee Shrine he was a member and Past President of the Oriental Band and was also active in several other Shrine units. Franklin served as the Illustrious Sir, Past Potentate in 1996.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Frank V. Rivenbark and Louise Howard Rivenbark Bodiford; and his dear dog, Abby.
He is survived by his three daughters, Jennifer L. Reel (Chris), Tracey L. Shaffer (Chris), and Stacey D. Senn (Darold); six grandchildren, Christopher Reel Jr. (Brittany), CJ Shaffer (Morgan), Kirstin Shaffer, Franklin Senn, Austin Reel, and Megan Senn; one great grandson, Ryker Reel; his sister, Frances Rivenbark Nuttall; and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 7, 2022 at St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 10 W 31st St., Savannah, GA 31401.
