Francisco De Ramirez, born November 8, 1937 went home to be with the Lord Saturday July 28, 2018.
Francisco was originally from Brownsville Texas. He and his family moved to Savannah Ga. in August 1976. Francisco was a member of the United States Army and retired in July 1985 after serving more than 26 years in uniform. He was a survivor of the Vietnam War having landed in the Ia Drang Valley, LZ X-Ray with The 1st Calvary Division Airmobile (Airborne). Francisco worked for and retired from the City of Savannah as a housing inspector. He was a member of The Knights of Columbus council 5588. He was also a member of the American Legion Post 184. Having served as the Commander of the Color Guard. Francisco De Ramirez is survived by his wife of 59 years Guadalupe M. Ramirez (Susie), his daughter Zelda (Charles) Dubberly, his son Francisco M. (Sandy) Ramirez. Grandchildren; Olivia Dubberly, Austin (Amy) Dubberly and Brandon(Christy) Ramirez. He leaves behind two sisters and one brother. And many other Mexicans and friends from across Texas, California, The United States and all over the world. In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you donate to St Jude Children's Hospital.
Visitation will be at Baker McCullough Funeral Home 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah Ga, 31406 Tuesday July 31, 2018 from 4:00pm til 7:00pm. A Rosary will be held after visitation. Burial will be at Glennville National Cemetery. Funeral Mass at St. James are incomplete.
