Frances Lockett Rogers, 99, of Savannah, died Saturday, Apr 15, 2017 at Spanish Oaks Hospice.
She was born December 25, 1917 in Savannah, and was preceded in death by her husband, Alton A. Rogers, her parents, Evelyn Eppes Lockett and James W. Lockett, sister, Martha McNeil, brothers, J.W. "Buddy" Lockett, Randolph "Ranny" Lockett, and Frederick "Bucky" Lockett, and her grandson, David R. Tyler, Jr.
She had lived in Isle of Hope for many years, and had lived in Hinesville during her school years, and graduated Valedictorian from Bradwell Institute High School. She attended the University of Georgia, where she was on the girls basketball team.
She was retired from the Personel Department of the Chatham County Board of Education.
She was very active and a life long member of Saint Thomas Episcopal Church, at Isle of Hope. She loved to travel and teach Line Dancing.
She is survived by 2 daughters, Jane R. Quante, (Carl) and Joyce R. Tyler, (David) both of Savannah, Ga; 4 grandsons, and 7 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and 2 step great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren.
Visitation: 5 - 7 p.m. Monday, at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel.
Funeral Services: 1 p.m. Tuesday, in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel, with Rev. Richard Nelson, Officiating.
Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
