Frances Theresa Banks

Mrs. Banks passed away peacefully Monday, August 1, 2021 at her residence in Savannah.

Frances was born November 11, 1927 in Savannah, Georgia. She is the daughter of Andrew and Eclinsie Robinson. She was united in marriage to Ulysees Banks on October 11, 1947 in Savannah, Georgia. Ulysees preceded her in death July 8, 1992. They were married for 45 blissful years.

Mrs. Banks was a member of the St. Phillips Monumental Church and the Women's choir. Frances received her formal education from Cuyler Junior High school, in Savannah and graduated in the class of 1946. After raising her kids she worked at Globe Shoe store where she excelled at selling shoes and accessories. She had a love for Gospel music and was active with the local Senior Citizen Groups.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Janice Elaine Banks who passed February 13th, 2020.

She is survived by five of her children Frances Banks, of Savannah, GA, Ulysees Banks Jr., Washington, DC, Joseph Banks, Washington, DC, Bruce Banks, Washington, DC, Romona Hill, Savannah, GA; 2 daughter-in-laws, Connette Rogers-Banks, Washington, DC, Ana Banks; a son-in-law, Henry Hill; a loving niece, Jean Bradford; and 3 grandchildren, Calandra Banks, Wendy McDonald-Mellerson, and Joseph Banks-McIntyre.

The family will be accepting friends from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Monday, August, 9, 2021 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 10, 2021 at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery, 1336 Dean Forest Rd, Savannah, GA 31405 with Reverend Dr. Bernard Clarke officiating.
