Faye Hogg Rakyta, age 72, of Savannah passed away Thursday, August 4, 2022.
Faye was born on February 17, 1950 in West Point, Georgia to the late Emmett and Doris Hogg. She was raised in Jacksonville, Florida and moved to Savannah, Georgia in 1958. Faye worked as a Revenue Inspector for the City of Savannah for many years before retiring in 2012. She was a member of the Savannah Shag Club, and AMF Bowling. Faye never missed a bingo game, loved to go on cruises, and could be found gambling or playing cards with friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Michael Edward Rakyta; her brother, Michael D. Hogg; and her sweet great grandbaby angel, Charles.
Faye is survived by her daughters, Kimberly “Kim” Leigh Chapman, Dawn “Shelly” Michelle Adams (Michael); her brothers, Frank L. Hogg (Sandra), Daryl E. Hogg, Timothy L. Hogg; her sister, Valinda Mecker; her grandchildren, Ashley, Megan (Rashad), Joshua, Justin(Emily), Katherine; and her great-grandchildren, Lea, Aiden, Cayden, Briley, Asher, and Aaliyah.
