Faye Floyd Smith, age 86, of Savannah passed away Friday, April 1, 2022.
Mrs. Smith was born on December 31, 1935 in Savannah, the daughter of the late Charles C. and Mary Rae Floyd. She was a graduate of Commercial High School and was a longtime bookkeeper for Mr. Sylvan Byck and John Mock Plumbing. She began learning piano at age 12. She married Mr. Bobby E. Smith in 1954 and together they shared their musical talents with Cresthill Baptist Church, Calvary Baptist Temple, Quacco Baptist Church, and Antioch Baptist Church where she also taught Sunday school.
Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her loving husband of 42 years, Bobby E. Smith; siblings, Merle MacMillan, Kitty Miller, Bill Floyd, and Bobby Floyd; and granddaughter, Kimberly McKinley. She is survived by her son, Kenneth E. Smith (Dee); daughter, Lisa Victoria Smith Ortiz; sister, Dale Weinreich; grandchildren, Lindsay Nordman Radcliffe (Robert Jason), Brooke Smith Ward (Michael), and Bryson M. Ortiz; great grandchildren, Andrew Potvin, Jacob Potvin, Mallory Johnson Abbott (Brandon), John Trevor Nordman, Jr., Payton Rae Nordman, Madison Grace Smith, Kendall Christa Ward, and Shelby Tanner Ward; and great great grandson, Jackson Abbott.
A funeral service will be held at 12 noon, Wednesday, April 6, 2022 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, GA 31406. The family will be receiving friends from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow the service at Greenwich Cemetery.
Flowers will be accepted and greatly appreciated by the family as a remembrance of Mrs. Smith’s love of flowers.
