Faith “Faithie” Newman, age 94, of Savannah passed away on November 19, 20th, 2023 at Brown’s Health and Rehabilitation. She was born on September 16, 1929.
Faithie was born in Savannah, Georgia to the parents of Elmer Cribb and Nancy Stone Cribb. She dedicated her life to being a homemaker, raising four daughters and playing a big part in raising her grandchildren.
She was a loving wife, mother, and “grandma”. Her family was the highlight of her life. What can be said about Faithie, she was a sweet and pure soul. To know Faithie was to know a woman of love, kindness, and grace like no other.
Not only was she a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother but she also lived out her days loving others as Christ loves us, and she preached that to everyone who would listen. It was very common for Faithie to say that no one is perfect and we need to love everybody and treat everybody well.
She will be so dearly missed by her family and friends.
It will be a glad reunion day as she joins her husband, Earl; mother, Nancy; brother and sister; in laws, Buddy, and Betty Cribb; as well as her two youngest daughters, Kathy and Donna.
She is survived by her daughters, Nancy (Boochy) Canady, Earlene (Leland) Riner; her grandchildren, Jerri (Stacey) Mathis, Cherri (Kevin) Jaynes, Lorraine (Clay) Mathis, Greg Canady, Erick (Carla) Riner, Travis (Lisa) Riner, Courtney Riner; great grandchildren, Caitlin (Spencer) Rowe, Morgan Jaynes, Mason Jaynes, Landon Mathis, Bradley (Jill) Mathis, Andrew (Sarah) Mathis, Emily Riner, Lauren Riner, London Riner, Faithie Riner, Will Riner; and son-in-law, who she thought of as a son, Dale Dozier.
The family would like to thank the staff at “The Lodge at Bethany, Brown’s Health and Rehabilitation, and Ogeechee Area Hospice for the love and support they have shown not only Faithie but their family.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406. A funeral service will begin at 10:00 a.m. in our Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive Savannah, GA 31406).
Interment will be held at Greenwich Cemetery, 330 Greenwich Road, Savannah, Georgia 31404.
