Cracker Stokes

Everett Isman Stokes celebrated his 80 birthday with family and friends January 21, 2017. Cracker suffered from Lung Fibrosis and passed away February 2, 2017. He served in the U.S. Army Paratrooper 82 Air Borne and retired from Iron Work Local 709. While enjoying life, he established "Crackers" downtown and Hwy 21, along with checkered Flag Restaurant. Retiring again in 2000 he continued to keep himself busy with his rental properties. The past few years he enjoyed early morning coffee at Ashleys Hwy 17 with friends. If you knew him you were sure to have shared laughter. A reputation as a scrapper which was true in his younger years, yet sensitive, loving, caring of all people and non judgmental. The words "I Love You" we will all miss.
Cracker is predeceased by his Father, Busey Stokes, Sr.; Mother, Essie Parmer Lumpkin; brothers, Preston, Ed, Kenny and sister, Emma.
He leaves behind his Wife, Monica Townsend Stokes; children, Traci Stokes, Mark and Tammy Stokes, Andre Dickerson, Chad and Heather Stokes; nieces, Cheri and Karen; grandchildren, Christian, Taylor, Lily Whitney, Phillip, Cecilia, Will and Jace; great-grandchildren, Mallory, Leo and Lily.
