Evelyn Kersey Smith, 85, of Metter Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her home under the care of Regency Southern Care Hospice.
A native of Stillmore Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Ben Kersey and the late Lonney Bell Mosley Kersey.
She was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Franklin Smith; children, Nita Fay Smith, Debbie Riggs, Mary Conner, Larry Kersey; 2 grandsons, Shane and Michael Riggs; siblings, Jerome Kersey "Jug Head", Lina Bell Craven and Jerral Kersey.
Survivors include her longtime companion, Preston McCombers; son and daughter-in-law, Carl and Sherri Smith; grandchildren, Eric Smith (Bridgett), Jeremy "J" Smith (Ashley), Tyler Hill, Phillip Abernathy (Jennifer), Chad Rigdon, Jarrod Rigdon (Lynn), Selina Conner, Josh Kersey; sister, Kathleen Lowery (Wallace); brother-in-law, Charles Craven; several great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation: 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. Sunday, May 21, 2023 at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2023 in the Funeral Home Chapel with her grandson, Eric Smith officiating.
Burial: Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
