Evelyn Elizabeth Secrest

January 12, 1937 — May 16, 2023

Evelyn Elizabeth Secrest, 86, of Guyton, Georgia passed away Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at her daughter's home.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, she was the daughter of John Clyde Bailey and Alma Elizabeth Barthelmess Bailey.

She was an excellent business owner who was the picture of professionalism. She prided herself on her appearance, never to be found with a hair out of place or lacking her make-up. She was known for being loving and generous, but tough. She kept a close watch on politics most of her life, until recently, always having an opinion on the goings on of our government.

In her spare time, Evelyn enjoyed playing cards and Yahtzee for pennies with her family. She was also an avid sports fan, watching her beloved Atlanta Braves, Miami Dolphins, New Orleans Saints and Tampa Bay Buccaneers as often as she could. She was a consummate flirt, even flirting with her doctors into her last days. She will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include daughters, Cheryl E. Clark and Cathy L. Todd (Frank); son, Robert C. Clark (Sheila Gunterberg); grandchildren, Lindsey Garrison, Holly Myles and Tonya Cochran; five great grandchildren; five great great grandchildren; sister, Edith A. Mosely; and a number of nieces and nephews.

Service will be private.
