Eva Annette Thornton, a most recent resident of Hoover, Alabama, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 27th, 2024, at the age of 98. Born on Monday, August 2nd, 1926, and raised in the charming city of Savannah, Georgia, Annette was a cherished daughter of James McClellan and Eva Floyd.
Annette devoted her life to nurturing her family as a dedicated homemaker. Her warm spirit and loving nature touched everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. She embraced her role as the heart and soul of her family and her community, leaving a legacy of kindness, strength, and compassion.
She was preceded in death by her loving spouse, Artis Hugh Thornton, and her devoted parents, James and Eva McClellan, sister Eula Wise and brother James McClellan. Her family finds comfort in knowing she is reunited with them, enveloped in the love they shared.
Annette is survived by her daughter, Lynn Bailey; son, James Thornton (Elaine); grandson, Jason Bailey; granddaughter, Jennifer Bradley (Dan); 7 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren, who will continue to cherish her memory and uphold the values she instilled in them.
The family will be receiving friends 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday, October, 2024 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406.
A funeral service will begin directly after visitation at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral homes Hodgson Memorial Chapel.
Interment will be private.
