Eugene "Gene" E. English, 73, of Port Wentworth passed away Monday, October 9th, 2017 at St. Joseph's Hospital.

A native of Tybee Island, Georgia, he was the son of late Archie T. English and Iva Lamb English.

Gene was a member of First Baptist Church of Port Wentworth.  He was retired from Stone Container after 30 years of work and he also retired from Gulfstream.

Gene loved the outdoors especially fishing, he was active in the MRS #5A, Elks Lodge #183, and looked forward each year to the Stand Up for America Day Chamber of Commerce Fishing Tournament which he took pride in officiating the weigh ins.  He also looked forward to the Krystal Group gatherings.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Herbert W. English, Archie L. "Lefty" English, and David F. "Bud" English.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Sally Graham English; daughter, Regena "Gina" D. Bogalis; brother, John "Pat" English (Wilma); sister, Bonnie R. Martin; sisters-in-law, Blendith English, Georgette English, Sandra Hill, Ann Mason and Marie Cannon (Rayford); brother-in-law, Jerry Graham (Peggy);  former son-in-law, Nicholas Bogalis; his fur baby, Peaches; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday, October 20th, 2017 at the Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel with a Memorial Service beginning at 7:00 pm.
