Ethel Inez (Morris) Armstrong - GARDEN CITY - Ethel Inez (Morris) Armstrong, age 93 of Garden City, passed away peacefully and entered eternal rest with her Savior on Thursday, December 1, 2016. She was born to the late Joseph and Nancy Spivey Morris in Stilson, GA. She was a long-time member, Sunday school teacher and nursery director of Woodlawn Baptist Church. Family was her pride and joy. She loved spending time with her children and grandchildren, especially during holidays and special occasions. She always had a great story to tell, and anyone who spent quality time with her would learn something new and be thoroughly entertained. She had a green thumb, loved arts & crafts and was an excellent cook. She volunteered for over 20 years as a Pink Lady at Candler Hospital in Savannah. From being a riveter at the Savannah shipyard during World War II to running her own cafe and being a leader for her daughter's Girl Scout troop, she was a strong woman with many experiences who embraced life to the fullest. Inez was preceded in death by her first husband, James Tucker, Sr. and her second husband, Harold Armstrong; parents; sisters, Nellie Tyler, Elsie Cribbs and Helen Torrescano; and brother, Raymond Morris. She is survived by her son, James Tucker, Jr. (Melinda) and daughter, Nancy Freeman (Stan); her grandchildren Jennifer (Marc) McFarland, Jacquelyn Tucker, Timothy Freeman, Amanda Freeman, Kirsten Freeman and Shannon Freeman. Visitation will be held on Sunday, December 4th from 6pm-8pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 2794 Hwy 80 West, Garden City. The funeral will be held on Monday, December 5th at 1pm at Woodlawn Baptist Church, 407 Talmadge Ave, Garden City. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Abbey East Cemetery.
