She served at West Medway Community Church as a Sunday School teacher and the Sunday School Superintendent for 25 years. She retired as a “snowbird” in Fort Myers where she spent several seasons of spring training games cheering on her Boston Red Sox. She also loved the New England Patriots. In Fort Myers, she served her HOA as treasurer. During the summers, she spent time with her family in Maine and Massachusetts, insisting on doing the long-distance drives with her co-pilot Jake the dog, and later, Moxie. She was an avid reader, especially of history, and passionate about dogs.
“Hurricane Ethel” was a strong and determined woman whose perseverance and independence were an inspiration to her family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, nursing staff, and doctors. She will be deeply missed.
