Estil Levinia (Lanier) Russell a long-time resident of Savannah, Georgia passed away on Monday afternoon, January 18, 2021, at Savannah Hospice after a battle with Alzheimer’s.
A native of Savannah, she was born December 20, 1941 to Marion and Mary Moore-Lanier-Syms. Estil worked for the Chatham County BOE as a bus driver, Georgia Regional Hospital and owned her own cleaning business prior to retirement. She enjoyed crafting, gardening, reading, traveling and spending time with her family and friends.
Estil is preceded in death by her parents and sister Marianne Walker. Estil is survived by her husband of 29 years, Martin Russell, sons Gene Driggers, Randall Driggers, Chris (Ta’Ree) Driggers and daughter Angela (Dudley preceded in death) Denton. Siblings, Marion (Eleanor) Lanier, John (Nancy) Lanier, and Ricky Syms. Estil enjoyed five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, nieces and nephews and other family and friends.
The family will receive friends and family from 10-11am January 21, 2021 immediately followed by chapel services at Baker McCullough Funeral Home in Savannah, Georgia. Additional graveside service will be held at Oak Hill Cemetery in Meldrim with Pastor David S. Riner officiating.
