On April 16, 2018 we lost a very special brother, uncle and friend. Ernest M. Brown, Jr. (Buddy) passed away in Melbourne, FL after a brief illness. He was born on June 25, 1936 in Savannah, GA.
Buddy had a kind heart and dearly loved his family and friends. He was so very proud of his nieces and nephews.
Buddy was a member of the Georgia National Guard in the late 1950s. He thoroughly enjoyed the years he played on softball and bowling leagues. In recent years he looked forward to going to the Senior Center in Garden City, not only for the great lunch but also for the conversation with his friends. Buddy graduated from Commercial High School in 1952. He was just 16. At that time he became a member of the International Brotherhood of Electric Workers local 508 Garden City, GA. He remained active in his local until his death.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Pearl Brown; sister, Barbara Covenah; uncles, Arthur (Son) Brown and Leon Brown; cousin, Joyce Brown Covenah.
He is survived by sister, Sharon Juza of Helena, MT; brother-in-law, Charles Covenah (Barbara) of Melbourne, FL; nephew, Derek Covenah of Melbourne, FL; nieces, Michelle Hill (Mike) of Melbourne FL, Nicole Miller of Bettendorf, IA; great nephews, Austin Covenah, Shane Hill, Mason Covenah all of Melbourne , FL; great niece, Makenzie Emerson of Bettendorf, IA; great nephew, Dax Emerson of Bettendorf, IA; also very special friends, Roy and Lynn Covenah who gave their time selflessly through the years and Sandra Carter Kent, who always remained in his heart.
A Viewing will be April 26th from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm at Baker McCullough Funeral Home in Garden City Chapel.
Burial with Graveside Service will be Friday, April 27th at 11:00 am at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
