Eric Brown Stafford, 55, of Bloomingdale Georgia passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday March 26, 2020.
Eric is the son of the late Eli Austin Stafford and Lily Mae Brown Stafford.
He was a long time member of Alpha United Methodist Church in Bloomingdale Georgia.
He was employed for 36 years by Kraton (formerly Union Camp) in Savannah, Ga. He was admired and respected by his many co-workers throughout the years. He was also a member and shop steward for the USW local #795.
Eric was a member of the Masonic Lodge along with his brothers, father, and father-in-law. He served as Worshipful Master of Richard T. Turner #116 F&AM in Bloomingdale Georgia in 1993.
He loved to spend time with family and friends. He got great joy out of being around children. He was always concerned with making sure that all children were loved in this world. His greatest joy in life were his two children, Ashley and Eric. He always spoke of how proud he was of his children and their accomplishments. His children were equally proud of him.
Eric had many hobbies that included; fishing, car racing, working on his race truck, working in the yard, gardening, and riding his 4 wheeler. He always enjoyed going on trips with his children. Two memorable trips were to the Smoky Mountains after his daughter’s college graduation, and with his son to Kentucky to visit The National Corvette Museum.
Eric’s greatest passion was taking care of others. He was always the first one to volunteer to help someone who was in need. He was constantly thinking of others before he thought of himself. He would have given the world to make someone smile.
He is survived by his wife, April Holland Stafford, his mother, Lily Mae Brown Stafford, his children Ashley Elizabeth Stafford and Eric Holland Stafford, brothers, Kenneth J. Stafford, Mitchell Eli Stafford, Eason Andrew Stafford, and Samuel Eli Rogers.
Eric was a kind man who always thought of others before himself. He was a loving father, husband, son, and friend. He will truly be missed by all who knew him.
Graveside services will be family only. A Celebration of Life is being planned, and will be announced at a later date.
The family would like to ask that in lieu of flowers, please consider donating to the Masonic Home of Georgia in Eric’s name.
Services have been entrusted to Baker McCullough Funeral Home Garden City Chapel, 2794 West US Highway 80 Garden City, GA 31408. (912)964-2862.
