Elsie G. Powers-Coursey, age 69, of Savannah passed away Thursday, September 19, 2024.
Elsie was born on June 10, 1955 in Bronx, NY, the daughter of the late Efrain and Hilda Reyes Gonzalez. She was a graduate of Long Beach State where she earned a degree in education. She was of Catholic faith. She worked for many years with the Federal Aviation Administration, retiring as a Program Analyst. She enjoyed sewing and cooking.
She was preceded in death by her parents Efrain and Hilda Reyes Gonzalez.
Elsie is survived by her loving husband of 27 years, Bruce Franklin Coursey; daughter, Naiasha Wiggins (Wallace); sons, Alberto Medina (Karolina) and Javier Medina (Lauren); sisters, Melba Nunez Bennett (Joseph) and Evelyn Martell (Billy); and grandchildren, Sierra, Savannah, Avery, Kyson, Gavin, and Gisele; Nieces and Nephews, Jason Nunez (Kara), Jessica, Rudy, Mayleen, and God son Rafael Martinez Santiago, Besica Martinez Santiago; Cousins, Betsy, Pucho Rivera, and Arnaldo Gonzalez, Adopted children, Orlando, Rolando, Mari Vasquez; Best friends, Lynn and Mike Sova, Anthony, Daniel, and Guy.
