Mrs. Bragg passed away around 8:30 PM on Oct. 25 at Memorial Hospital in Savannah after a short illness. She is survived by her husband Lester C. Bragg of Springfield, Georgia. A long time resident of Thunderbolt, Georgia and lived in Springfield until moving to Marsh View Senior Living in Savannah.
She was born in Effingham County on August 14,1922 to William and Ella Overstreet. She was the youngest of 3 children. She moved to Savannah where she married Richard Clayton Atkins. They were married for over 50 years before he died. They had 4 children, William C. (Billy) Atkins who preceded her in death. His wife Milissa Atkins. She is survived by, Loy Atkins of Brunswick, Georgia, Connie (Atkins) Mucica of Savannah, Georgia, Anthony B. Atkins and his wife Kerry of Savannah, Georgia. Mrs. Bragg has 6 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6:00-8:00 PM at Bonaventure Funeral Home.
Funeral Services wil be 11:00 am Wednesday in the Savannah Chapel of Bonaventure Funeral Home with The Reverend Peter Hartman officiating.
In lieu of flowers contributions should be made to: Turkey Branch United Methodist Church, P.O. Box 1491, Springfield, GA 31329.
