Eddie A. Schmitt, 77, of Bloomingdale, passed away Sunday, July, 22, 2018 at his home surrounded by his family and under the care of Compassionate Care Hospice.
The son of the late Arthur C. Schmitt and the late Nancy Lariscy Schmitt, Eddie was born in Screven County, GA. He was retired from Georgia Pacific after 42 years of service. Eddie enjoyed hunting, fishing, running dogs and the outdoors.
He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Sheila S. Schmitt; daughters and sons-in-law, Tracey and Richard Sparks, Tammie Hall Venuti and Ben Venuti; a son, Shawn Schmitt; grandchildren, Courtney Carden (Tanner), Krisren Sparks; a great grandson, Hendrix Carden; brother, Rufus Oglesby (Lilliam); sisters, Mildred Blair and Louise Yarbrough; several nieces, nephews, other family and friends.
Visitation: 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm Monday, July 23, 2018 at the Funeral Home.
Funeral Service: 11:00 am Tuesday, at the Funeral Home Chapel.
Burial: Gravel Hill Cemetery.
