Earlie Royal, age 88, of Savannah, GA, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 20th, 2024 at Hospice Savannah in his sleep, as he had always prayed for.
Born in Coffee County, Georgia, he was number ten of thirteen children born to Daniel Bernice Royal, Sr. and Ella Carter Royal. He was the older twin to Pearlie Royal, who preceded him in death.
Mr. Royal was a member of The Crossroads Baptist Church. He had previously served as a deacon and Sunday School teacher at Southside Assembly of God Church for several years. He loved to share his love for Jesus to everyone he met.
Mr. Royal was a member of Local 188 Plumbers, Pipefitters, Steamfitters and HVAC Mechanics of Savannah. He was initiated on March 15, 1968, retired on July 1, 1996 and became a Life Member on March 15, 2018.
Mr. Royal was a loving husband, father, PaPa, and great grandfather. He loved to travel to Bluegrass Festivals and enjoyed making new friends.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 58 years, Evelyn Deen Royal; and grandson, Robert Kyle Royal
Survivors include his sons, Danny E. Royal, Sr. (Linda), Daniel Keith Royal (Dondie); grandsons, Danny "Dan" E. Royal, Jr. (Shannon); Justin L. Royal (Alecia); great grandchildren, Jase Lee Royal, Maddie Williams, Cason Williams, Luke Roberts; great-great grandson, Grayson Mobley; sisters, Janet Wittkamp, Eloise Gattis, Elnettia Reed; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends and family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, 7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive, Savannah, Georgia 31406 on Monday, June 3, 2024.
The funeral service will be conducted at the same location on Tuesday, June 4, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. and interment will follow at Hillcrest Abbey West Cemetery.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt love and appreciation to the staff of Compassus Hospice, Hospice Savannah, and Georgia Living Senior Care. A very special appreciation to Lynn and Richard at the Station Exchange Senior Care in Richmond Hill, and Betty with Hospice Savannah.
Earlie will be dearly missed by his family and friends. May he rest in peace.
