Earl Perry Rowe Jr. "Pete Rowe", age 72, from Savannah, Ga - left his earthly "tent" on July 1, 2018 to reside in his eternal mansion in heaven with God, and his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
As a young man, Pete loved to ride horses and barrel race. After receiving a scholarship in baseball to ABAC in Macon, he attended for a short period of time before going to serve his country by joining the Air Force during the Vietnam war.
Upon completing his service, he attended and graduated from Armstrong State University with a degree in accounting. Using this degree for a short period of time working with the IRS allowed him to quickly realize a desk job was not for him and began driving freight trucks. He loaded and unloaded heavy materials, and once he realized he had a passion for this type of work, he soon opened Rowe Supply Company. His empire was built by hard work and determination, but he always credited his success to God and to his motto, "The Customer is King". Rowe Supply's legacy was reliability and customer service and that is how he grew his business to become a common name among contractors and roofers alike, for over 30 years. Pete sold his company in 2008 and planned to retire in Isle Of Palms, SC - where he owned a beautiful home on the intercoastal. Pete's sickness in 2012 prohibited this from happening. He did, however, remain in his Savannah home of 30 years with 24/7 care from the best caregivers anyone could ask for.
Pete was survived by "his three girls" - Roslyn Rowe Ingram, Robin Kristen Rowe Marshall, and Amanda Lee Ingram, and their husbands respectively Chase Ingram, Joe Marshall, Chad Ingram. Pete also left behind two loving sisters: Peggy Colson and Jodee Lynes, and was preceded in death by his brother James Rowe. Pete was a proud and loving father and grandfather, and we all considered ourselves blessed and "lucky" to have him as ours!!! He will forever be in the memory of his 7 grandchildren: Brayley Ann Stroud, Porter Adele Ingram, Colt Garvin Ingram, Chase "Rowe" Ingram, Winston Lee Ingram, MaryAnn Gibson Marshall, and Hazel Jane Marshall. Pete was also overjoyed and proud to be a great-grandfather to James "Beck" Stroud.
Visitation will be held July 15, 2018 from 5-7pm at Baker McCullough funeral home (Savannah location), and his funeral will be a private, family graveside service
In Lieu of flowers please donate to one of Pete's favorite charities: Savannah City Mission"
