Dorothy Wise

Dorothy V. Wise of Savannah, Georgia passed away peacefully on March 7, 2021 in Americus, Georgia.

Born in Savannah on August 15, 1929, she was the daughter of the late Anthony J. Von Dolteren and Bertie Brinson Morton. Dorothy “Dot” married Britton “Bucky” Wise (1927-2001) in 1951 and together they had six children- Robert L. Turner, Dorothy “Dottie” W. Moore (Eddie), Britton “Britt” Wise, III (Mary Ann), Richard D. Wise (Claire), Mark L. Wise (Amie), and James D. Wise.

Dot is survived by two of her children- Dottie and Mark and seven of her eight grandchildren: Diane Wise, J. Elizabeth Moore Keener (Franklin), Brian Turner, Christopher Wise (Crystal), Jenna Meyers (Russ Palmer), Mark Wise, Jr., Daniel Wise, and Britton Wise, IV. She was blessed with one great grandchild-Reagan Riley.

Visitation will be held at Baker McCullough - Fairhaven Funeral Home, 2794 US-80 W, Garden City, GA 31408 from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm on Friday, March 12, 2021 followed by a 2:00 pm graveside service at the Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that a donation in her name be given to a charity of your choice.
