Dorothy "Anne" Jernigan Wilson, 88, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024 at St. Joseph's Hospital in Savannah, Georgia after a brief illness. She was born in Gainesville, Florida on February 16, 1936. She is preceded in death by her mother, Mrs. Jeraldine Johns Hooten; her father, Lewis Jernigan Sr.; twin sister, Cora "Betty" Jernigan Cullen; and twin grandchildren, Christopher William & Brandi Marie Reid.
Anne was a graduate of Gainesville Highschool class of 1954 and an employee of Candler Hospital until she retired at the age of 76. She was a dedicated member of Countryside Baptist Church. She loved the Lord with all her heart. Anne believed her biggest accomplishment was raising her four children in the church, giving them a deep foundation and love for Jesus Christ. She would thank God everyday for letting her live long enough to meet many great grandchildren, "the joys of her life". Anne had a zest for life which included many hobbies such as the beach, boat, fishing & riding her motorcycle.
Surviving are her four children, James Clifford Reid, Sr. (Janet), Elizabeth Reid Cox (Gordy), Charles Alden Reid (Van), Jerry Laurie Reid (Shanda); half-sister, Linda Hooten Knowles (Stephen); 11 grandchildren, many great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 6th from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Baker McCullough Funeral Home, Hodgson Memorial Chapel (7415 Hodgson Memorial Drive; Savannah, GA 31406).
