Dorothy Helen Smith

Mrs. Helen Smith passed away on Monday, February 11, 2019. Helen was born in Woodcliff, GA to Bufford and
Lexie Bolton. She was later raised in Savannah where she met the love of her life, Danny K. Smith, a USAF
Airman Stationed at Hunter Air Force Base. Joining him with extensive military duty stations throughout the United
States and overseas for 22 years, they returned to Savannah upon Danny's retirement.
Helen retired from Chatham County's Metropolitan Planning Commission. She loved her family and loved spending time with her Grandson Shawn who was her
pride and joy. Helen was predeceased by her husband, Danny K. Smith, her parents, Bufford and Lexie Bolton, and brother, James W. Bolton. She is survived by her son, James A. Smith (Barbara), her grandson, Shawn Paul Smith (Kristi), her great-grandsons, Haris Smith and Wynn Smith, whom she loved very deeply and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Christine Burgess along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Thursday, February 14, 2019 at Baker McCullough Funeral Home (Hubert C Baker Chapel) Savannah Georgia. There will be a Visitation 1 hr prior to the service at the funeral home.
Interment will follow the funeral service at Hillcrest Abbey East. Pastor Jeff Hubbard will officiate the service.
